American Pickers: Treasure or Trash
|
American Pickers follows Frank and Mike Wolfe as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories. Now the hit show, American Pickers, comes to life with a unique, fast-paced and highly interactive event! As audience members enter the theater, they will be handed a raffle ticket. Within the 90-minute show, numbers will be drawn and the audience members holding the matching numbers will have an opportunity to appear on stage with show stars Frank Fritz and Danielle Colby.
Once there, the selected audience members will choose from a category of items similar to those that The Pickers find on their show (i.e. signs, toys, oil cans, bikes, furniture, motorcycles, etc.) Images of two items will pop up on a big screen after the category is selected. Each of the images will have a value known only to Frank and Danielle. The selected audience member then has the job of “picking” which item is a “treasure” and which is “trash”! See how much you know about what you may have in your attic, basement or garage!

Grammy Award-winning and 10-million-plus selling singer, actress and entrepreneur Monica, returns to the music scene with her very personal J Records/RCA Music Group aptly titled offering, Still Standing. To define oneself as “still standing” is a bold statement, and as her album title actualizes, “whatever happens to me is just a part of my story. It doesn’t define who I am and it hasn’t deterred me from where I’m going.”

Big Head Todd and The Monsters with guests Rose's Pawn Shop
|
The essence of Big Head Todd and The Monsters – a rootsy, emotionally direct variety of rock ’n’ roll that lends itself particularly well to a live setting – has been winning fans since Mohr, Rob Squires and Brian Nevin started playing together in high school (Jeremy Lawton joined in 2004). Needless to say, the three never expected to be in the same band at this late date, but, as Mohr points out, “It was a really fortunate combination of musical personalities, and we’re still partners in every sense of the word.”

Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar has emerged as one of the leading figures in World Music today. She is deeply rooted in Indian classical music, having studied exclusively with her father, the legendary Ravi Shankar, and is now one of the foremost performers in that tradition. In tandem with this, she has flourished as a performer and composer, exploring fertile ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of genres including electronica, jazz, flamenco and Western classical music.

Simply put, his latest album, Ghost On the Canvas, is the album of Glen Campbell's life. With beauty, power, heartfelt emotion and deep spirituality, this set of songs traces the arc of Campbell's 75 years: From dirt-poor, tiny-town Arkansas origins to Hollywood triumphs on the pop charts, TV and movies. From barnstorming days of youthful touring to hobnobbing with Elvis, Sinatra and the Duke. From troubled freefalls of addiction and bad life choices to personal and spiritual redemption.

It's rare for a young musician to earn comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis. It's even harder to find an artist who has entirely redefined an instrument by his early thirties. But Jake Shimabukuro has already accomplished these feats, and more...on the ukulele. On his most recent album 'Peace Love Ukulele', Jake and his "uke" effortlessly mix jazz, rock, classical, traditional Hawaiian music, and folk, creating a sound that's both technically and emotionally powerful and utterly unique in the music world.
