Orlando Philharmonic - Rigoletto
|
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra proudly continues its Concert Opera programming with a concert staging of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto.
Rigoletto, which premiered in Venice, Italy on March 11, 1851, is based on the play “Le roi s’amuse” by Victor Hugo. Audiences will relish this compelling story of Rigoletto, the hunchbacked court jester and the womanizing Duke of Mantua, as they weave a fascinating tale of seduction, treachery, curses and vendettas. Rigoletto is detested by everyone but his loving, innocent daughter, Gilda, who the corrupt Duke has set his sights on as his next conquest.
